DVD Review: Beautifully Inspired

Jim Brandenburgs Video Journey is an excellent companion to his book, Chased By The Light. To me, It seemed as if Jim is a burned out photographer for National Geographic. He has spent a lifetime shooting rolls after rolls of film in a world now dominated with fierce compitetion in the the digital age where anything can be seen or done.
Nearing retirement and settling down with his family back too his boyhood roots in Ely Minnasota, Brandenburg seeks a spiritual renewal in his work or he's done. He takes on a project, to spend 90 days starting from the autumn equinox to the winter solstice, and take only one picture a day. A publisher states it's the equivelint of a baseball player having one chance to swing everytime he's up, and he knocks the ball out of the park everytime. Each one of Jim's images is just that, knocked out of the ballpark.
Jim goes into eloquent detail about how he chose to shoot what he did, showing us a more artistic way of thinking, and shooting as a nature photographer. I hope to go to Ely Minn. and vist Ravenwood and his galleries.
