DVD Review: Again, this is a poor quality bootleg, not an authorized issue

As others have pointed out, this is a clone of the video that's been circulating online for years, burned to DVD-R. It's the same 320x240 captured from a home VHS of the broadcast, exactly the same as the files you can download a couple of clicks away. Even the title's incomplete on the home-PC printed liner, the correct title is Century of the Self, not Century of Self. An annoying rip-off - watch this essential documentary some other way. One star because you can't post a review without rating the item, in reality, less than zero. Unconscionable that Amazon is selling this.DVD Review: A "must have" if interested in public relations

Edward Louis Bernays (November 22, 1891 - March 9, 1995) is considered one of the fathers of the field of public relations along with Ivy Lee. Combining the ideas of Gustave Le Bon and Wilfred Trotter on crowd psychology with the psychoanalytical ideas of his uncle, Sigmund Freud, Bernays was one of the first to attempt to manipulate public opinion using the subconscious.
He felt this manipulation was necessary in society, which he regarded as irrational and dangerous as a result of the 'herd instinct' that Trotter had described. Adam Curtis's award-winning 2002 documentary for the BBC, The Century of the Self, pinpoints Bernays as the originator of modern public relations, and Bernays was named one of the 100 most influential Americans of the 20th century by Life magazine

It's really a shame that such an important and potentially world changing video is not available in decent format. When I find stuff like this, I usually buy several copies and give them away. But the quality of this product is so bad, I can't bring myself to do it. This product should be selling for $1/disk. I recommend you just watch it on youtube. Spend your $50 on 35 copies of Freedom to Fascism and give them way with a note with the url to youtube for this video. But whatever you decide, be sure to watch this documentary, and other Adam Curtis works. DVD Review: This DVD does not work

This is a great documentary series that was shown on BBC. I ordered two copies from Amazon and both were defective. Amazon refunded my money, but I believe it is because of copyright laws that this DVD does not function properly. If anyone knows another place to find this series, let me know because this very much worth it to own.DVD Review: Century of Self

I first saw excerpts from this series on You Tube and wanted the entire BBC series for my personal library. I think it is an inspired and thought provoking study of the manipulation of the general public by capitalists and government. For anyone interested in political science and psychology this is a must see documentary series.
