DVD Reviews of Carmen Electra's Aerobic Striptease Collection - Carmen's Fitness CollectionDVD Review: Amazing Summary: 5 StarsI actually got this set on netflix and I LOVE it. It is so much fun and deffinately makes you feel sexy!! I have seen more definition in my muscle tone and even confidence! I would recommend this to all women! I dont know what everyone else is saying about it isnt a good work out.. I was huffin and puffin and I am in good shape! So ladies definately try this one out!!!
DVD Review: Who edited this mess? Summary: 3 StarsThis would be a neat, easy workout if the editing wasn't so horribly distracting. There are several exercises that are done w/many more reps on one side than the other. During the single leg squat in the lower body section, one whole side is eliminated. I keep having to back up the disc in order to complete the exercises on both sides. For the $ that this series has charged, this sloppiness is really unforgivable.
Most people seem to be reviewing the whole series in this disc's reviews. I agree that the series is silly & really should have been packaged onto 1-2 discs. The Fit to Strip disc is the only one worth anything. Carmen Electra is a beautiful woman, but her forced "sexiness" is about as genuine as Jessica Simpson's. When the camera cuts to her, she tries looking pouty or sexy. Give me a strip workout by Angelina Jolie or Megan Fox!
It also annoys me that she puffs & struggles through her own workout DVD. She seems unfamiliar w/many moves, and she makes a big deal of complaining about how she's "dying," or her muscles are "burning." There's nothing difficult enough here to make you burn if you're in even decent shape. Two sets of pushups - with your knees down? This would be a good workout for a beginner, if you can stand the editing mistakes.
DVD Review: Very Disappointing Workout Summary: 2 StarsI rented this DVD to try what I thought would be a fun, aerobic workout, but I was very disappointed. The "workout" consisted of 3 mini routines. The first routine is the longest, slowest warm-up I have ever done on a DVD. The second & third routine are mini dance routines. Carmen was a good teacher as far as the dance steps went. She took the routine slowly and kept repeating moves and trying everything you learned to music so I felt that the steps were easy to follow and that the routines were easy to remember, which was nice. The steps were not hard or complicated so it is a good beginners DVD. However, I did not like the DVD because I felt that my heart rate only went up a little and I never got even close to breaking a sweat. The other thing that I did not like was the filming of the workout. Carmen teaches you the moves and then you do the whole routine to music with no talking/instruction. The camera kept zooming in on Carmen's face or slowly panning down her body and you need to see what her body is doing so you can follow her, but you couldn't. I had high hopes for this DVD, but felt that it was a very ineffective workout. If you want something to do for fun and want to learn a few stripper moves then you can try this DVD, otherwise, don't bother.
DVD Review: Fun workout that I actually felt! Summary: 5 StarsLet me start out by saying that I do NOT like to work out. So, I need something that is fun so I will want to do it. I got this dvd (just ordered the others online) and I love it. It is so fun, and it got my heart rate up. I didn't even realize how much it was working my muscles until the next day. I woke up and my muscles were kind of sore (since I usually don't work out), which I was happy about because not only did the dvd provide a nice cardio workout, but it also worked my muscles. The routines are very fun, a little sexy, and not super hard. She goes over them multiple times (in segments and then together) so the repition makes it easier to learn, and, of course, adds to the workout. Most workouts I've tried I find excuses to not to do them, but with this one I've been making the time because it makes me actually want to work out. Hopefully the other dvds in this series are as fun!
DVD Review: By no means is this a workout Summary: 1 StarsI'm sorry but this whole workout series is horrendous. I do not recommend under any circumstances. Carmen Electra is not a good teacher. She stumbles her words and her counts are off. I've seen her dancing and it's subpar. When giving the task of breaking down and teaching steps she absolutely unqualified. Furthermore, the workouts are incredibly slow paced. You don't feel a burn at all.
Description of Carmen Electra's Aerobic Striptease Collection - Carmen's Fitness CollectionAll four of Carmen Electra's sexy Aerobic striptease DVD's together in a collectable box set! Includes the original "Aerobic Striptease," "Fit To Strip", "Advanced Aerobic Striptease," and "The Lap Dance & Hip Hop." While Volume One in Carmen Electra's Aerobic Striptease series featured Electra working out in front of a bed, Vegas Strip offers a more public venue, Studio 54, as her instructional setting. Since this segment is filmed at a legendary dance club, it makes sense that this workout session is constructed of choreographed dance moves, that one can either use on the dance floor or keep under wraps at home. Vegas Strip's half-hour session will provide good cardiovascular exercise, depending on what one puts into it, though it mostly improves grace and coordination, in easy-to-learn segments set to pulsating dance music. This is equally valuable since the premise of this series is to feel sexy and have fun while working out. Though it does appear to be more of a lesson in choreography, Vegas Strip clearly demonstrates the challenge implicit to such sexed-up dance moves, and may give those who shun dirty dancing a respect for the real professionals. -Trinie Dalton
