DVD Reviews of Carmen Electra's Aerobic StripteaseDVD Review: Didn't learn a D@MN THING!!! Summary: 1 StarsI brought this video based off of the rating. What a mistake. Please read the negative reviews first so you can save your money.
This was ridiculous. I am pretty sure Carmen is a nice person and a great dancer but she is a bad instructor. If you want to buy this dvd for a great workout are a new routine, please be prepared to rewind rewind rewind each portion of the routine. Also she had too many steps within each portion. And the worst part of this video is the end. Once you spent however many hours learning the routine, she shows you the last part then says "lets take it from the beginning". Then it goes to a club scene. The routine becomes all about her and forgets that it is an instructional video. I was dumb founded. Such a waste of my MONEY.
DVD Review: Carmen Electra's Striptease DVD 1 Overview Summary: 2 StarsI think that this is a fun DVD to exercise to, though it doesn't give you an actual workout. This is more of just a dancy video. It doesn't reallly get your heart rate up to what it needs to be in order to get into shape. I enjoy doing it and there are points where it "gets tough". But it doesn't last long enough to really give you the full cardio you may want. Here are steps as to what the video does:
1. Warm-Up: You can either have her count through it or you can listen to music provided on the DVD and just watch her do head tilts and stretch. I would advise listen to the music.
2. Dance number one-Pretty easy steps, but it goes fairly slow which keeps you from getting your heart rate up. Once you learn the whole dance and do it you get an alright workout.
3. Dance number 2-This one is a little tougher. You have to do some floor work that is a little tough but it does work you legs and abs for a short amount of time.
Once you have completed that the DVD is over. The workout is okay, I wouldn't recommend for someone who is serious about losing weight unless you are committed to doing it everyday and doing something else with it (running, swimming, etc). It is fun and very dancy. Don't get it if you don't want to dance. The music is okay, you have an option to change it up if you want. It is something that would be fun to do with friends once a week just for "girl time". It is a fun video, so check it out.
DVD Review: Didn't even raise my pulse.... Summary: 1 StarsThis was a total waste of time and money. The "workouts" didn't raise my pulse at all. It felt like of bunch of girls messing around at a party. I know it's supposed to be fun, but that's about all it was. Work out it was not. If you want to get in shape, then don't get this. If you want some stripper moves to wow your guy, then maybe this would work although, the hair tossing and the hip rotating are things you can watch on TV for free....
DVD Review: Amazing Summary: 5 StarsI actually got this set on netflix and I LOVE it. It is so much fun and deffinately makes you feel sexy!! I have seen more definition in my muscle tone and even confidence! I would recommend this to all women! I dont know what everyone else is saying about it isnt a good work out.. I was huffin and puffin and I am in good shape! So ladies definately try this one out!!!
DVD Review: Who edited this mess? Summary: 3 StarsThis would be a neat, easy workout if the editing wasn't so horribly distracting. There are several exercises that are done w/many more reps on one side than the other. During the single leg squat in the lower body section, one whole side is eliminated. I keep having to back up the disc in order to complete the exercises on both sides. For the $ that this series has charged, this sloppiness is really unforgivable.
Most people seem to be reviewing the whole series in this disc's reviews. I agree that the series is silly & really should have been packaged onto 1-2 discs. The Fit to Strip disc is the only one worth anything. Carmen Electra is a beautiful woman, but her forced "sexiness" is about as genuine as Jessica Simpson's. When the camera cuts to her, she tries looking pouty or sexy. Give me a strip workout by Angelina Jolie or Megan Fox!
It also annoys me that she puffs & struggles through her own workout DVD. She seems unfamiliar w/many moves, and she makes a big deal of complaining about how she's "dying," or her muscles are "burning." There's nothing difficult enough here to make you burn if you're in even decent shape. Two sets of pushups - with your knees down? This would be a good workout for a beginner, if you can stand the editing mistakes.
Description of Carmen Electra's Aerobic StripteaseWith popular dance and fitness techniques, this low-impact workout conditions and strengthens the body using moves targeted specifically to tone the hips, thighs, buns and abs. Join Carmen from the comfort of your home as she helps you look good, tone up and feel more confident! While Volume One in Carmen Electra's Aerobic Striptease series featured Electra working out in front of a bed, Vegas Strip offers a more public venue, Studio 54, as her instructional setting. Since this segment is filmed at a legendary dance club, it makes sense that this workout session is constructed of choreographed dance moves, that one can either use on the dance floor or keep under wraps at home. Vegas Strip's half-hour session will provide good cardiovascular exercise, depending on what one puts into it, though it mostly improves grace and coordination, in easy-to-learn segments set to pulsating dance music. This is equally valuable since the premise of this series is to feel sexy and have fun while working out. Though it does appear to be more of a lesson in choreography, Vegas Strip clearly demonstrates the challenge implicit to such sexed-up dance moves, and may give those who shun dirty dancing a respect for the real professionals. -Trinie Dalton
