I am a somewhere in between of beginner and intermidiate level. This video is absolutely helpful and worth the money. It taught me the technique I need to make the right turning and to control my speed so I don't get scare or loose control and hit a tree! I bough this and the sofa ski school DVD and in my honest opinion this "Breakghrough on Ski" is by far a better instructional DVD.DVD Review: Your Own Private Instructor

I just started skiing again after a five year hiatus. I was never all that great to start off with so I decided to buy this instructional video to get back on my feet. I've watched and re-watched parts of this video many times and I must say it's the best investment an advanced beginner to intermediate skier could make! Lito's very instructive. He's clear and concise and gives you specific exercises to help you apply his teachings. There's also beautiful cinematography, even if it's not up to 2008 standards. I have been in "intermediate rut" for a few years. This video is certainly helping me taking steps to move out of the rut. I watch the video the night before the skiing day as a sort of visualization. Then, I also watch the video again after skiing.
The main concept of putting weight on one ski is pretty powerful and easy to learn. I already saw some improvement on my first day of trying the techniques discussed in the video.
Be sure to read the little booklet - it has some useful info.

I really can't say enough good things about this DVD. So simple, and yet so comprehensive. If you only buy one learn to ski video, this is the one to get. Tito's relaxed and positive teaching style gives the video a really soothing and hypnotic quality. (You could watch it just to chill out after a long day!) Right away, you will learn the subtle, but crucial differences that separate true expert skiing from everything else. And the more you understand this, the more you will become aware of the inefficient style most skiers have as they jerk, jump and skid their way down the hill. Armed with the knowledge in this video you will be able to rise above the -intermediate rut- as Tito calls it. You can stop fighting the hill, and start getting into a natural rhythm, automatically linking your effortlessly carved turns. And if you've never experienced this before, it feels good! If you ski on a regular basis, (and if you take your kids skiing), you owe it to yourself (and to them) to understand the material in this video, which is clearly the best of its kind. Thanks Tito. ***Afterthought: To be totally objective, I have to add one more thing... I have had discussions with some (expert level) skiers who think this video is way out of date, and does not apply to the techniques required with the newer shaped skis. I don't completely agree with this, and I think the basics today are still the same as what is shown in this video. I was rather disappointed that this is just a DVD of a 1993 VHS tape. I read his book about 15 years ago and it was good, but this is just more of the same. I was hoping for updated content, but alas no. It's not that anything in the video is blatantly wrong, but it is not really up to date considering modern equipment (I used to have a pair of those SX-92s he's wearing...15 years ago). The turns shown do not really qualify as carved turns by todays standard. If you are a real intermediate, this has some useful info, but if you are an advanced intermediate this is probably below your level.
