DVD Review: Seems weird but a great teaching instrument..
Summary: 5 Stars
Great for children 1-3. My child has has learned to say brother, sister, auntie, man, drink and many other words from watching this video.
The scenes are repetitve skits, for example in Tall Drink a woman constantly moves from her comfy spot under a tree to refill her glass of juice, only she doesn't realise the glass has a hole. A narrator gives short sentences to tell you what's happening.
Big TV is set on a beach as a man turns on the TV set only to have an endless string of relatives turn on TVs within TVs...just as weird and cool as the Boobah's themselves.
For Big Windows all the characters play peekaboo behind curtains and near and far. Fun sound effects.
Of course, the fat Boobahs do lots of their usual energetic aerobicising (my baby's a fanatic of this) before curling into their space cocoons.
Admittedly and thankfully, the bonus "Look what I can do" segment is at the end and can be skipped as younger children don't really appreciate it. The creator of Boobah Anne Wood appears in a short interview at the end.
60 minutes long and very good value for money...
