DVD Review: Exquisite LONG Concert

I had not known of Lagrene until just a couple of months ago. I am amazed by his musical skill and also by all the exquisite musicians he has with him on this DVD.
Only wish there were some subtitles, but that is a minor quibble.
What do I like best? I tend to go into the latter part of the DVD. The version of Dinah is fantastic, the versions of Daphne and Donna Lee. Sylvain Luc, Niculescu, Dorado Schmitt, Richard Galliano.
If you love skilled musicians, this is a no-brainer.

I've had this DVD for several years now. I've watched it countless times, and now and then I attempt to play along. I still can't believe how good it is. If you have any interest in Gypsy jazz, buy this. I don't recommend this to my friends, I buy them copies just in case they don't trust my judgement.
