I decided to put this in after not touching it for quite a while (I've been doing the cardio circuit and celebrity DVDs lately) and it's a good change of pace. I agree with others it's not for beginners, as there isn't much actual instruction on the specific moves. The reps seem to be less than "normal," but the fast pace makes up for it. This is the only workout I have where he gets down on the ground to specifically work your back side, and does it ever. The first time I did it I was surprised to see something as simple as pushups included, but being in the military, I can never get enough of those.
Overall it's a good workout, it gets and keeps your heart pumping, and you'll probably feel it the next day.

This is my favorite Billy Blanks workout. My roommate and I purchased it because we wanted to try something different. The moves were a little challenging the first time through, but we caught on quickly. It is one of our favorite videos now. You can tell everyone in the DVD is having fun and we have a great time doing it too. Quick summary: I did not feel I had worked out so much as flailed around for a while. Didn't "feel" it in my muscles, didn't get into it. Heart rate didn't go up much.
I really do like Billy Blanks and Tae Bo. I own the original set and some of the original Basic tapes and my problem is that series is out of print, but some of the new stuff, like this, just doesn't hold up to it (in this case in a significant way). This is because it seems to break with the style that for me makes the earlier material successful.
1. There is NO warmup. No stetching. Nothing.
2. Music is important. Here it's canned , unremarkable, and downright cheesy (sample lyric: "Workin' out, yeah-yeah...losin' weight! Yeah, yeah...") I would have imagined with all the success he'd be able to continue to license real music as in the older workouts.
3. Bustin' a move is not why I do Tae Bo. The little "dance" interludes here are gratuitous, confusing, and disruptive.
4. Too many fast changes, not enough reps. The workout has me moving so fast and changing so often I'm just trying to keep up, meaning I lose form and effective workout time while figuring out what's going on.
What I typically like about Tae Bo is that Blanks is kind and encouraging, he demonstrates, he explains good form, and he keeps things at a good pace with many reps--all good for a 30something clod like me. I am most comfortable at the pace of the original "Basic" tapes. I *can* do the original "Advanced" tape (though for some moves I have to go at a half-pace), but that's because there are many reps and little pauses or less jumpy exercises between major moves. Unfortunately this workout comes across as slapped-together by comparison.
