DVD Reviews of Bill & Ted's Excellent AdventureDVD Review: Valley boys. Summary: 4 StarsBill & Ted's Excellent Adventure was a film I saw at the drive-in when I was little and I loved this silly comedy to pieces. Even back then Keanu Reeves stood out, you knew he was gonna be a big star, Alex Winter... he didn't have the same luck. This film is dumb but funny, the late George Carlin stars in this as well. This comedy is totally righteous, check it out dudes!
DVD Review: 3 stars out of 4 Summary: 4 StarsThe Bottom Line:
Glibly playing fast and loose with time travel paradoxes and history, Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure is an amusing romp that never takes itself too seriously and is all the better for it--highly recommended to anyone who wants to see Keanu Reeves impress Socrates with the observation of "All we are is dust in the wind."
DVD Review: Thanks so much! Summary: 5 StarsI know this is from the user I ordered it from, but I got Popcorn with the movie. Thanks so much, five stars, A+++. Will order from again.
DVD Review: Bill and Ted Summary: 4 StarsBill and Ted, how do I love thee, let me count the ways.
1. You radically traveled through time in an amusing way that taught many a stoner about history.
2. You show us mid-westerners the love that is Circle K.
3. Every time a fan walks by a phone booth they try to dial their way to a different time.
4. Your philosophy is the future of human civilization.
Bill and Ted's Excellent adventure was a movie that epitomizes the 80's. It was another movie that again I didn't manage to see in the theaters, but saw it on VHS the first time when it was still a new release. It's a fun romp that fits in the traditional stoner comedy vein, yet ironically doesn't show them doing any drugs. It seems they are just burn-outs. The plot line is they have to pass a history exam otherwise Ted (Keanu Reeves) has to go off to the military academy. In order to save the human race and keep them excellent, time travelers from the future come back and leave the boys a time machine to work on their history project. Hilarity then ensues.
Be excellent to one another.
DVD Review: Excellent! Summary: 4 StarsWe bought this for my son, to show him what Keanu looked like in the 'olden' days. Cute movie.
Description of Bill & Ted's Excellent AdventureKeanu Reeves (The Matrix) and Alex Winter (The Lost Boys) deliver "spirited performances" (The Hollywood Reporter) in the original righteous comedy about the two ditzy dudes from San Dimas, California. Also starring George Carlin, this hysterically funny historical comedy is a "snappily directed" (Time), "bouncy good time" (The Boston Globe) and a party that goes on and on! Bill (Winter) and Ted (Reeves) have spent so much time forming their rock band, The Wyld Stallyns, that they're flunking history. Whoa, duuuude! And when Ted's dad threatens to send him away to military school, Bill and Ted realize it could mean the most heinous end of The Stallyns! Luckily, a guardian angel from the future, Rufus (Carlin), has come to them with a most bodacious solution: a time-traversing phone booth to take them into the past to learn about the world from some of history's most influential personalities. Their journey through time turns out to be a blast?...but will they learn enough to pass their class? Like, radical, dude--but not nearly as funny as it should be, even though it was a box-office hit. Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter are a pair of dim Valley boys, whose life is made heinous by a school history project. Enter George Carlin as a futuristic dude with a time-traveling phone booth. So Bill and Ted go back in time to round up a gang of historical figures (Socrates, Joan of Arc) to bring back for their presentation. Abe Lincoln at the mall? That's about as witty as it gets, rendering this the kind of comedy that gives teenaged audiences a bad name. --Marshall Fine
