DVD Reviews of Berserk: TV Series Season 1 Complete Collection

DVD Review: GREAT SERIES ALL THE WAY UP TO THE WORST ENDING OF ALL TIME. WATCH THE FIRST EPISODE LAST!!! I BEG YOU!
Summary: 1 Stars

what the hell is wrong with you people giving this a 5 star review!!! you guys are kidding yourselves seriously!! i loved this series i really did. i made it apoint to hold out on watching this series too fast because i felt it was so great. i bought one volume every two years just to savor it!!!!! so when it was time to watch the final volume i was pumped and excited my heart was racing, then all of a sudden it ended! WHAT THE HELL!!! why in the world would you end a series with Caska being raped!!! i was so captivated, then all of a sudden the credits roll and i'm like "thats it"!!! this is not to say that the episodes aren't good, they are excellent and pulse pounding but to end it with no conclusion or climax is ridiculous!!! THEY SHOULD HAVE MADE THE FIRST EPISODE THE LAST EPISODE AND IT WOULD HAVE BEEN BETTER SINCE THE SERIES IS A FLASHBACK ANYWAY!!! think about it, we see caska getting raped then Gutts screams and we fade out, to wake up to guts forging his new sword out to destroy demons. then the series ends with gutts cutting the demon servent in half and walking into the flames. BAM! THE PERFECT ENDING RIGHT? why in the hell did they make the first episode the aftermath of the last?!! who in the hell thought it be a good idea to have the final image being caska being raped?!
if you are planning on watching this series SAVE THE FIRST EPISODE FOR THE CONCLUSION, I BEG YOU!!!! SKIP THE FIRST EPISODE PLEASE!!! YOU DON'T MISS ANYTHING AND YOU'LL THANK ME ONCE YOU COME TO THE LAST EPISODE AND IMMEDIATELY FEEL THE URGE TO POP IN THAT FIRST EPISODE AND SEE WHAT I WAS TALKING ABOUT!!! AFTER THAT YOU'LL WANT TO EMAIL ME PERSONALLY AND THANK ME!! whoever made the decision to end the show like this needs to be shot. and we'll never truely know how Gutts made it out of hell...the episodes are great but as a conclusion, this is horrible unless you watch the first epidode immediately after the last.

DVD Review: Great Anime
Summary: 5 Stars

First my friend watched this series with in 2 days, then he let me borrow them and i did the same. I then bought the set and mailed it to my brother in Cali and he also watched it within a few days. It is a great story and interesting characters, it is a shame that only season 1 is on DVD when i know the comic books has 3-4 seasons.

DVD Review: Simply the Best.
Summary: 5 Stars

Miura Kentaro's amazing storyline drives this masterpiece of animation and gore into another world. Its a dark and graphic, often brutal, midevil world that offers every type of emotion available.

The animation itself is drawn with great detail and meticulous attention to scenery considering when it was made.

The japanese cast of voice actors is superb. The dubbed versions...i couldnt really get into. For my money, the subtitles are where its at. Although the dubbed out-takes had me on the ground laughing.

This is often a greatly misunderstood anime because of where it starts off, it makes more sense to start at episode 2, and watch from there to the end, then watch episode 1.

The only downside to the entire series is that it leaves you wanting more when its over. More from a world that pulls you in and takes a chunk out of your heart, and leaves you there bleeding for some finality.

DVD Review: A nice compliment to the manga series.
Summary: 4 Stars

Being a fanatical reader of Kentaro's series, I bought this without a second thought. I was quite pleased with the animated version, even if I knew what was coming before hand. I will say that it is quite docile in comparison to the manga. That is, it isn't as explicit as the imagery within the books.

Some folks might be slightly put-off by the rather anti-climatic ending, but I'd still recommend it. It's quite fun. The bloopers are great to watch as well. Especially the sections where Griffith's voice actor is singing.

While I'm at it, if you've watched this and want more, go read the manga. A fair warning though, it's not for the faint-of-heart.

DVD Review: One of The Best Animes of All Time !!!!!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

I loved Braveheart and Rob Roy And similar movies which are set in midevil times and this is what attracted me to First Renting Berserk and then Buying it after renting all the discs.

If you are a fan of engaging storylines within a more realistic setting then most animes then Berserk is a MUST BUY.

The Anime can seem outdated, The English Voice acting can seem a little over the top at times and their are a million fight scenes with 10000 Gallons of blood being spilled. That being said. This is one of the best Animes I have ever seen.

The Music is perfectly placed throughout each scene as the story moves forward episode to episode. And At times you forget your watching an "Anime" And feel your watching an Epic Movie. At least thats how great it was to watch Berserk for the first (of several) time.

Sure Some episodes might move along a little slower at times.. This wasnt an issue for me as i like to get to know the characters and you have to realize its 20+ Episodes. A Perfect Story blends action with drama and character building etc etc.

6 Years later I have yet to find anything to come close to Berserk. No Anime compares to this work of art known as Berserk.

There is 2 ways to watch the series.

Start with Episode 2 and watch the whole thing and when your done go back and watch Episode 1 for the first time.

Or Start with Episode 1 and watch the whole series and it may or maynot give things away that happen later on.

Basically Episode 1 is ment for TV views to be Pulled into the series.
Episode 2 is really the Start of the Berserk Story.
