This is the first review I've felt compelled to write. The number of good reviews on this was overwhelming so I decided to give it a chance. As one of the previous reviewers wrote, the performance at the end will help you to decide if this is the right Tribal dvd for you. The only word I can use to describe that performance is.... goofy. If you're looking for Rachel Brice equivalent in skill, flexibility and just plain awe-inspiring dancing, look elsewhere. Otherwise, I ddin't have problems with the instructions, but do think the dancers weren't even on the same level. I've taken a number of ethnic and modern dance classes and usually enjoy watching all kinds of fusion and combinations in dance moves. This just leaves me aghast.DVD Review: Awesome!

I got this dvd because I was curious about Tribal and I don't have the option of going to a class.
This one may not be for people who get frustrated or give up easily, but I like a challenge when it comes to working out! I'm not a dancer, except recreationally, so I can't say if it would be for 'beginners' or 'novices' but it's a LOT of fun.

hands down, bar none. i'm a beginner and i walked away from my tv a changed women!!;) sera gives the best instruction, has fun moves, great music and is the next best thing to a real class. this is as good as having her in your living room, very, very informative. clear out the furniture and get ready to have a blast!! I wasn't too sure what to expect given that the cover art shows a dancer very different from those I've learned from before. But wow, I watched Sera's performance before I did the workouts, and it was love at first sight. (Full disclosure: I have also watched a little Rachel Brice and she is Wonderful, but the camera work on her DVD is awful!) I love the creative and unusual style. It's not just another course where you learn separate pieces that have to go together into one single routine, which I find boring and a turn-off.
The instructional bits also move along at a good clip. Not really fast, but not super slow either, and they feel more like you are learning something that you can own for yourself and then use as you are inspired to do.
I haven't done all of the workouts yet, but I was posting another dance DVD review and thought I'd start this one as well. It's a very nice DVD, not too hard, not too easy, fun and cheery.
