Summary: 4 Stars
Series 4 of 'Bad Girls' lacks the lightness and warmth that the Nikki-Helen relationship in the first three series held, but it is well worth getting as Linda Henry (as Yvonne Atkins) comes into her own and is well worth the price of the series, as is Claire King and that awful cad, Jack Ellis. The acting is good, the stories well written, but I feel the story lines and relationships start to get darker and grimmer towards the end of this series, and then really get heavy in series 5-8. Linda Henry as Yvonne Atkins is great to watch, and despite being enamoured with Simone and Mandana's peformances as Nikki and Helen, the only time I ever came close to tears was with one of Linda's performances in "Common Criminal." Linda was born in the Peckam area of London, and must find it amusing to be battling with a prison gang bearing that name. Oh, and the body count continues to rise. Buy this fourth series, but, like me, you will REALLY miss Helen and Nikki - none of the other women's relationships come within a hundred miles of theirs for chemistry and affection.
