I really enjoyed the format of this film. It was extensive enough to help an aspiring section hiker like myself see the whole trail and understand the challenges that face hikers in each state. It was clean which is saying a lot. Every other media regarding the AT tends to show the trail's surlier side, like the naked hikers and casual sex of Southbounders and the language in the rest of them. Flagler gets 5 stars from me. I highly recommend this. It's the best I've seen so far. If I had one complaint it is that you just don't want it to end. You wish there were 2 more dvd's to go! This is professionally done. I also enjoyed the fact that it showed a lot of trail. There is a fairly good balance between AT hiking tips, trail gear considerations, shelter and hostel info, hiker interviews and beautiful shots of hikers on the trail itself. I will be watching again and again with my daughter who will accompany me at Springer next fall to begin our 20 to 30 year section adventure.
