DVD Reviews of Andy Goldsworthy - Rivers and Tides (Special Two-Disc Collector's Edition)DVD Review: Was exactly what I expected. Summary: 5 StarsThe item came right on time and in the condition noted. Pleased with the results from seller!
DVD Review: Wonderful documentation of Art and Nature Summary: 5 StarsIn this documentation of his work, Goldsworthy reveals how humans can work with nature to transform the ordinary into extraordinary beauty. I was awed at both the imagery and the ideas behind his work. He creates much of his pieces from materials that will decompose or be swept away by water. In fact, part of his art is utilizing the temporal nature of materials to reveal their changes over time.
I keep lending this to friends who appreciate art and nature. I've only heard good things back from them.
DVD Review: Beautifully Artistic Summary: 5 StarsWonderful depiction of Goldsworthy as an artist and a man. Beautiful show of his work and his methods. I recommend to all those interested in art.
DVD Review: Art as video Summary: 5 StarsHow meticulous and time consuming is this craft. Goldworthy is truly genius in incorporation of nature and Man' creative teaming. His video biographers should be commended. Excellant!
DVD Review: Gold-worthy Summary: 5 StarsIt is one thing to be introduced to artist Andy Goldworthy via the numerous books about him and his art, but the DVD showing him in action constructing these works adds a memorable dimension and insight as to how he goes about creating these works. We've shared both the DVD and books wiht friends and relatives in design and creative fields who all agree that this is inspiring stuff.

UPC:?767685983232 Manufacturer No:?NVG-9832 Andy Goldsworthy's Rivers and Tides is a truly beautiful, Scottish-German 2001 documentary about artist Goldsworthy, a Scotsman whose medium is nature itself and whose preferred studio is the outdoors, particularly where water forever flows, rises, and/or retreats. The soft-spoken, secluded Goldsworthy is seen hard at work making ephemeral sculptures out of bits of ice in the trees, or building tall, mysterious cones from loose rock, which stand like spiritual sentinels in forests and on shorelines, overgrown by plants or swallowed daily by high tides. Filmmaker-cinematographer Thomas Reidelsheimer goes to great and sometimes inexplicable lengths to make visual corollaries to Goldsworthy's ideas about underappreciated relationships between light, color, movement, balance, and fluidity of form in the real world, making Rivers and Tides a lively and always surprising cinematic gallery. Some of Goldsworthy's most miraculous natural installations--stone walls that snake through hundreds of feet of forest and stream, for instance--show up in the last half-hour. --Tom Keogh
