DVD Reviews of AlwaysDVD Review: Always Summary: 5 StarsAlways This movie was in excellent shape when it got to my house. The shiping time was excellent. What more can I say. This was a good movie for the people who like action adventure and a good love story to go along with it. Richard Dreyfuss played a ghost with a sense of humor. Holly Hunter his love interest. I would recomend this movie for all.
DVD Review: One of the best remakes......... Summary: 5 StarsFrom the opening scene to the final credits, an outstanding Movie based on the WWII Spencer Tracy Classic, "A Guy Named Joe." "Always," does what a great movie is supposed to do. It makes you laugh and it makes you cry. That's Entertainment.
DVD Review: Wonderfully Romantic Summary: 5 StarsAlways is a wonderfully romantic aviation film. The aviation and macho goodies will mildly appeal to most men but it is likely not enough for them to overly enjoy it on those small bits alone. Romantics and sentimental types will love it but I got to warn most men this is decidedly a "chick flick". If readers are wooing a sentimental sweety this is the film for you! Richard Dreyfuss and Holly Hunter are magical together. So believable as the romantic couple whom death cannot even separate. Supporting cast also features John Goodman and the legendary Audrey Hepburn in her final role. English subtitled for the hearing impaired made this even better loved in my home.
DVD Review: Excellent movie Summary: 5 StarsI have "always" loved this movie and couldn't find it in stores. So....went to Amazon to find it so I could have my own copy. Thanks for offering this.
DVD Review: Bitter sweet movie brings tears and warms the heart Summary: 4 StarsWonderful movie although it drags in a couple spots. Richard Dreyfuss and Holly Hunter have good chemistry.
Description of AlwaysRichard dreyfuss plays a daredevil pilot who dies after saving the life of his buddy while fighting a runaway forest fire. Holly hunter is the girl he leaves behind until he comes back as a guardian angel to a beginner pilot. Studio: Uni Dist Corp. (mca) Release Date: 10/24/2006 Starring: Richard Dreyfus Holly Hunter Run time: 123 minutes Rating: Pg Director: Steven Spielberg Considered by many to represent a low point in Steven Spielberg's career, 1990's Always did suggest something of a temporary drift in the director's sensibility. A remake of the classic Spencer Tracy film A Guy Named Joe, Always stars Richard Dreyfuss as a Forest Service pilot who takes great risks with his own life to douse wildfires from a plane. After promising his frightened fianc?e (Holly Hunter) to keep his feet on the ground and go into teaching, Dreyfuss's character is killed during one last flight. But his spirit wanders restlessly, hopelessly attached to and possessive of Hunter, who can't see or hear him. Then the real conflict begins: a trainee pilot (Brad Johnson), a likable doofus, begins wooing a not-unappreciative Hunter--and it becomes Dreyfuss's heavenly mandate to accept, and even assist in, their budding romance. The trouble with the film is a certain airlessness, a hyper-inventiveness in every scene and sequence that screams of Spielberg's self-education in Hollywood classicism. Unlike the masters he is constantly quoting and emulating in Always, he forgets to back off and let the movie breathe on its own sometimes, which would better serve his clockwork orchestration of suspense and comedy elsewhere. Still, there are lovely passages in this film, such as the unforgettable look on Dreyfuss's face a half-second before fate claims him. John Goodman contributes good supporting work, and Audrey Hepburn makes her final screen appearance as an angel. --Tom Keogh
