Blu-ray Review: Don't be Fooled! (Blu-Ray)

Don't be fooled by the 'professional' reviews on other sites or those here because this release is HORRIBLE! The packaging is nice and I actually like the digibooks, save for the back slip with all of the info on it that SHOULD be the back cover and not a paper that comes off!
I did not buy this when it first came out because of the price. I then read reviews and figured that that are just picky. Many reviews claim that a BD is not the most presentable but they end up looking good enough and HD enough for me. This one on the other hand... ALL reviewers were either on the take or they let this one slide because of the moive itself is considered a classic, so they gave this passable scores! They generally let you know that the picture looks like the '70's' (whatever that means) and that you should not expect much, but they still tell you to get it anyway!
I am here to tell you that this picture quality IS NOT up to ANY HD standard! It is soft (very soft) and there is grain (can deal with it as long as picture is SHARP), colors are fair, but there is NO DEFINITION, let alon HIGH definition! Are you used to the usual 'being able to see patterns in clothing and even the stitching' in HD movies? Well, think VHS (I can be kind and say - SUPER VHS) with the definition on this 'BD!' Are you used to seeing strands of hair regardless of the BD quality? Not here! Hair is but a blur and nothing pops on this disc.
It is sad that with all of the fanfare and packaging - not to mention the price, that this disc is amongst the worst i have ever seen on BD! The only good thing I can say about it is that it is digitally clean. Still grainy and no definition, but clean! I have seen even weaker films look better than this does. I do not know how Warner OK'd this, unless this is the best that they can do with this? I hope not!
I won't say avoid it, but I cannot say go get it either. I can't believe this. The critics bashed 48 Hours, but even THAT looks better than this! I guess studios are getting lazy and just letting the conversion (not here) roll without remastering! I keep waiting for Shaft(s) and Superfly redone with all-new surround sound tracks, but if those reults will be like this - I can wait until they get it right or I may have to stick with the DVD's! I still cannot believe this!

In the Watergate Building, lights go on and four burglars are caught in the act. That night triggered revelations that drive a U.S. President from office. Washington reporters Bob Woodward (Robert Redford) and Carl Bernstein (Dustin Hoffman) grabbed the story and stayed with it through doubts, denials and discouragement.
