DVD Reviews of 3000 Miles: Gumball 3000DVD Review: Boring and annoying Summary: 1 StarsThis movie was not at all what I expected. Its pretty much Bam complaining throughout the whole movie. I dont get how he can complain about being recognized when he is in the Lambo that has been in every single one of his shows and known by all his fans. Maybe next time he will drive something that no one knows is his. He complains about getting lost, not being able to get through the crowds (in the purple lambo), and he constantly complains about his car getting wrecked when it was being shipped. Just a whine fest and totally not worth a dime. Also it has some nice skating scenes, but mostly boring montages, and sucky music. BOO!
DVD Review: Is it worth? Summary: 1 StarsI purchased this dvd on 08/20/09 and today we're 09/20/09, I haven't yet received it.... So I guess this says it all...
DVD Review: Filled with Ferraris and Lambos, it's still lacking enough torque. Summary: 3 Stars3000 miles is a decent documentary about a select few individuals rallying in their expensive cars throughout Europe, Asia, and North America. As a car fanatic, this film particularly caught my interests within a heartbeat but the further I found myself into the movie, the less excited I became about driving or racing altogether. So what went wrong? Why, the very same five individuals that the movie is about. That's right, this DVD happens to be less about cars and more about the celebrities driving them. In fact, there were several segments in the documentary committed to the celebrities themselves - such as skateboarding, BMXing, or silly stunts not even involving a car. Though, I'd be lying if I said there weren't a few decent segments about the cars themselves as well - which there were. However, I as well as many of you, bought this film for the cars and the cars only. Everything else is bonus material which unfortunately is exactly what this movie revolves around. The main reason behind this is that Tony Hawk and Bam Margera sell Gumball 3000 DVDs better then Gumball 3000 sells Gumball 3000 DVDs.
For the time being, let's ignore those celebrities for a bit and discuss what Gumball is really about - long distance, high performance car rallying. Was it there? YES. Was there drama involved? You bet. Is it an accurate description of what to expect if I entered a Gumball rally? Guaranteed. The documentary in itself however is made extremely average. The music is extremely basic and did not fit the category of high speeding cars. The editing could have been a significantly better and more footage could have been shown especially something as long as 3000 miles worth of rallying. With that being said, I still enjoyed it despite such obvious flaws only due to the comedic aspects that tipped the scales for me such as various police run-in situations. It's an extremely unique movie that holds an entire category to itself filled with drama, humor, and moments that make you smile and drool. Though I think I enjoyed the Jackass Gumball 3000 Special which was moreover about Gumball then Jackass (ironically).
DVD Review: Not bad at all Summary: 4 StarsIf your a fan of exotic cars and any of Bam and his crews antics you will enjoy this movie. A bunch of funny parts and great footage of all the cars. Definatly a good purchase!
DVD Review: It was okay.... Summary: 3 StarsI am a HUGE fan of Jackass and Viva la Bam, I thought that this was going to be really good, and funny. But...it wasnt the greatest, don't get me wrong though it did have a few good parts I just wish it would have been a little better. I don't regret buying it, its still a good addition to my Jackass, Viva la Bam collection.
